•A member of the Derby Festival Marketing Team that is responsible for implementing all aspects of the sponsorship program at KDF with the primary task of sponsorship sales
•Develops, manages, and maintains a list of Derby Festival sponsorship accounts as assigned by the Senior Vice President of Marketing & Development
•Schedules and conducts sales appointments
•Develops sponsorship target list(s) of potential Derby Festival sponsors with a primary emphasis on available Event sponsorships, Official Product sponsors, Pegasus Pin program sponsors, and Sampling/Display sponsors
•Works with other Marketing Team members in a coordinated effort to sell and facilitate the sale of hospitality sponsorships for Thunder Over Louisville, KDF Package Program sponsorships, parade entries, balloon race entries, & promotional partnerships garnering revenue for KDF
•Conducts sponsor follow-up meetings and account servicing duties for both assigned existing accounts and new Festival sponsorships.
•Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a Business-Related field or Communications (preferred but not required)
•A minimum of two years outside sales experience
•General understanding of non-tangible sales
•General understanding of marketing, advertising, and promotion
•Proficient with MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word et al)
•Knowledge of event marketing and special events experience a plus
•Media sales background a plus
