Identifies articles and oversees design for the print and electronic versions of the Communiqué. Identifies PR opportunities as well as coordinates writing and distribution of press releases to promote the AdFde's programs and the advertising community in general. In addition, spearheads the AdFed's progress in social media.

 

Creative Competition/Louie Awards

Runs the local ADDY Awards Competition recognizing outstanding achievement in advertising. Using the AAF ADDY Awards Manual, this committee conducts the competition (including promotion and judging) supports the log-ins, and plays an intergral part in planning the awards Gala!

Diversity

Explores partnership and event opportunities with community organizations that will serve to foster connections between AAF-Louisville members and individuals from multiple backgrounds. Goals being to expose young individuals to the benefits of a career in advertising, as a way to promote diversity in the industry, to demonstrate the value of advertising to the community, and to make AAF-Louisville members aware of diversity and multicultural issues.

Education

Develops outreach programs to high schools and colleges to encourage participation in the AdFed's High School marketing Challenge and college scholarship program. Creates a program to educate high school and college students on the many opportunities and benefits of a career in the communications and marketing fields.

Industry Relations

Fosters connections with valuable industry partners including new businesses, government entities and related non-profits. Organizes a breakfast series and identifies articles for the AdFed communications in order to keep the membership informed of matters related to diversity, new government regulations, consumer trends, technological developments, etc.

Membership

Identifies area businesses and individuals for membership recruitment and develops a communication plan for welcoming new members to the AdFed, including new member orientations held in conjunction with AdFed events. Assists the staff in updating membership materials and researching new member benefits, for example discounts at local businesses and resources in the Members-Only area of the website.

Oversees the annual Call for Presentations for the upcoming club year. Arranges speakers and activities for the AdFed's national speaker luncheons and professional development series. Assists in creative direction and copywriting for the marketing materials for these events.

Social Media/PR

Works with AAF-Louisville staff and volunteers to identify areas of interest for coverage and manage social media efforts, including Facebook posts, live-Tweeting from events, etc. Also develops a plan for managing the consistency of the AAF-Louisville website and its social media vehicles. Identifies PR opportunities as well as coordinates writing and distribution of press releases to promote AAF-Louisville's programs and the advertising community in general.

Young Advertising Professionals

Facilitates the development of the Young Advertising Professionals (YAP) membership division, including planning and implementing professional development programming and networking opportunities. Educational programming can address career development or be industry specific and networking events can range from happy hours to an outing tied to a local event.
